Today we visited Tera, the cute Baxter of the Tel Aviv University Faculty of Curiosity Lab. Tera looks at the movement of the ball in space, translates the motion into a two-dimensional painting, and draws it with a pencil.They had already asked me why this was good, and I could not answer, but I am sure that in the future we will read a fascinating scientific article, which demonstrated the capabilities here. But what we’re seeing here is actually a combination of hand analysis and motion processing, and moving a robotic arm according to the resulting image analysis – think of the applications in surgery, handling hazardous materials, or underwater work …In the meantime, one can only begin to imagine what else can be done with curiosities in a curiosity lab…
